Beerfest prefunc!

Hop Scotch 2011 was my third festival at Fremont Studios and the third time I have arrived early. So convenient that Brouwer’s Cafe is kitty-corner from the venue, eh?

Festival prefunc #1: Big Time Saison Grisette, plus brunch.

I’ve gotta get some good food in this belly before a day of imbibing beer. I ordered a breakfast croissant. It took me a few minutes to choose off the brunch and lunch menus, so I’m nearing the bottom of my saison when it arrives.

Breakfast Bob Deluxe is no ordinary breakfast croissant. It’s layered with smoked bacon, black forest ham, one egg over easy, dill harvarti, and maple aioli on a toasted croissant.

I order prefunc #2: New Belgium La Folie, and polish off the last bites of my croissant, and a glass-and-a-half of water. I’m hydrated and full and am now ready to begin the day at Hop Scotch.

…I have a feeling this early arrival may be subconscious behavior, yearning for a reason to visit Fremont’s most marvelous Belgian-style biercafe.
